We headed to the beach this week hoping to see the backhoe setting to work on our foundation, but here we are five days later, ready to drive back home, and no digging has happened.
Well, except for a teensy bit of digging by some miniscule earth movers that we brought along just for a photo op.
The good news is that the delay is only temporary. We hope to be truly breaking ground by early August (crossing fingers.) And on this trip we got all sorts of important things done. So we will try to be patient. You’d think after 6 adoptions that I’d be better at waiting on paperwork, but it is still a pain. Sighhhhh….
I did want to thank everyone who weighed in on all the various paint options for the interior of the house. After much thought I have decided to go with Agreeable Grey for the vast majority of the house, with a pretty creamy white trim paint called Dover White. However, so many of us like Sea Salt that I have decided to use it for three bathrooms and two bedrooms. That will give a nice bit of variety as you walk around the house without tying me to it decor-wise for the entire house. Feels like a good color compromise to me.
Now, just for fun, here’s the photo that I’m using as my living room inspiration as I shop. This is the general feel that I want the room to have– warm, comfortable, and elegant.
And turquoise. Oh, how I love turquoise.
I’ll keep you posted!
