We weren’t able to get over to the house a week or two ago because of all the snow, so this week we asked a lady who lives in the neighborhood to get a few photos for us. Things are really starting to come together!
Here’s the downstairs hall bath– it’ll be perfect for tubbing sandy toddlers after a day at the beach. I am particularly pleased with the floor, which is durable Mannington vinyl with a hex tile pattern.
This photo is of the ‘princess’ room, now painted in SW Sea Salt. Love it!
Here’s the master bedroom, which gives you a decent peek at the flooring which will be throughout the whole house except in the bathrooms and laundry. The paint is SW Agreeable Grey. We plan to put area rugs under beds and in seating areas for coziness.
This is a peek into the upstairs master shower. It will be plumbed with a shower panel, as well as an adjustable hand-held shower sprayer, and the entry is level, to make it easy for someone in a wheelchair to use, if needed. I love the fun white hex tile on the floor, and the shampoo shelves built into the walls. There will be a grab bar in here too, eventually, next to the shower seat.
Here’s the living room looking from the hallway just outside the master bedroom. The fireplace is gas, for convenience, and will be a great place to sit and warm up on a chilly day. There will be a TV above the fireplace. They did the hearth in the same granite that we are using in the kitchen.
Here’s my favorite view in the house, from the kitchen island looking west across the dining room and living room. See that ocean? I put the sink and one of the dishwashers on the island so that the folks doing dishes will have a great view, and also be able to interact with others while they’re working. The counter with the glass-doored cupboard on the right is where the coffee station will be, and there’s a wine fridge going in below that counter, for extra fridge space.
And here’s a view looking into the kitchen— aaaah!! The granite pattern is ‘Viscon white’. I spent so much time picking finishes for this room. After I chose the granite, I worried a bit that it would be too busy and lively. But paired with the white cabinets and grey wall, I think it looks very serene.
The cabinets are a simple craftsman style. The floor will be the same wood-look laminate that you saw in the master bedroom, and I have some fun hammered-copper pendant lights going in over the island.
There will be stainless appliances throughout the kitchen, including two dishwashers, and the marble subway tile backsplash will go all the way to the ceiling behind the stove.
Here’s one more view from the living room out toward the ocean. Can’t you just picture yourself sitting here in a cozy chair with a hot drink, enjoying the view and visiting with your loved ones? I know I can!
Now, for some really fun news: our rental agency is beginning to accept reservations THIS week! I have no idea how soon the summer will fill up– we’ve never done this before! But if you have a particular week in mind for a visit, I’d recommend that you contact Bayshore Rentals as soon as possible to secure your dates. Their phone is 1-541-563-3162. Summer rates are $400/night, with slightly lower rates off season. And the 7th night is always free, year round! So come on over and stay awhile!
Remember, this home has THREE full master suites, as well as three other bedrooms, and a total of 5 bathrooms. So it will be a great home to get together and rent with friends and family. A hot tub is going in later this spring, and the home will also have a stair lift, perfect for members of your party who are in a wheelchair or whose knees might balk at stairs. The home can be rented by groups of up to 14, not counting babies and toddlers, with parking for up to 6 vehicles.
I can’t wait to get furnishing– hopefully in late February– and will share photos as more of the home gets complete.
