Our kind and longsuffering contractor sent me some rather exciting photos this week. First up here’s a photo of the lot before the beginning of the build, looking from the southwest toward the lot and highway 101. You can see just a bit of the woods to the right at the edge of the lot. Even though we’re on top of a hill high above the ocean, we have beach grass all over. That tickles me! This photo is from July, 2016.
Here’s an aerial photo compliments of google maps, showing where we are in relation to the ocean and the bridge at Waldport. The white X is our lot.
Now we get to the photos that our contractor sent. Here we were yesterday, all set up to pour footings. Our house will eventually be as tall as the house you see next door, with a deck facing south similar to the way theirs is set up.
Here’s the first photo from today, with the concrete going in. Looks like the day started out grey, but ended up sunny and 70 degrees!
And here we are at the end of the day with sunshine and the footprint of the house in place.
The next step is the actual foundation and its accompanying inspection.
And do you see what’s on the very left edge of this photo?? Lumber! This is getting exciting!
