When you’re traveling with little ones, you’ve automatically got a boatload of stuff to bring, from diapers to wipes to clothing to food to that very special blankie. It all takes space. That’s why we stocked the Owlhaven with ALL the baby things we could think of. If it is bulky and needed, we probably have it, making your packing list SOOOO much shorter.
First up, we have TWO of these sweet little travel cots, perfect for keeping timid preschoolers close to older siblings or parents at night. Not shown are fitted sheets that come with the cots, and can be tossed in the wash after use.

Next is this pack n play. Four of our bedrooms are large enough to fit in a pack n play, keeping babies contained and comfortable near parents. We also have a mattress pad, a cozy baby blanket, and fitted sheets for this bed. These items are usually found in the laundry room cupboard above the laundry sink.

Obviously when you’ve got little ones, you need a good place for them to eat. We have two of these IKEA high chairs, perfect for when baby cousins are vacationing together. (The second one is usually kept in the laundry room closet. Just get it out, snap on the legs, and you’re in business.)

We also have plastic dishes, flatware, and sippy cups, enough for at least half a dozen little ones to have a picnic on the deck.
To help keep little ones safe (and to allow parents to actually RELAX!) at the Owlhaven you will find baby gates at the top of both staircases, as well as a portable gate that can be moved into whichever doorway you prefer.

This stash of toys for younger kids is kept in the great room upstairs, so that little ones can be happily occupied while staying near parents.

Outside in the fenced yard, you’ll also find a sandbox and a large collection of sand toys. (If you don’t spot them in the sandbox, look in the big bin under the deck stairs.) Feel free to pack buckets and shovels with you to the beach, too. Just return them to the yard when you’re done.

We also have things that make it easier to get to the beach. The very easiest way is by car, just a 3 minute drive through the neighborhood. But if you’d rather give everyone some exercise, feel free to grab our stroller and our wagon. Tuck the baby in the stroller and the blankets, towels, snacks, and sand toys in the wagon, and off you go to play in the sand.

When you return to the house from the beach, feel free to rinse your sandy people off with the (hot and cold water) hose just inside the back yard. There’s also a bathtub in the downstairs hall bath for bathing the kiddos, AND a laundry room with double washers and dryers to make laundry a breeze.
Need anything else to make your family trip to the beach perfect? Just let us know and we’ll consider adding it. We’d love to add more family friendly items to make the Owlhaven an even better place for families with children.
