A quick trip to the coast this week turned out to be just in time to see the actual, real foundation being poured. Here’s the front of the house looking toward the cul-de-sac and the wooded area to the south of the home. On the right you can see the trees that are marked to be trimmed, which will vastly increase our ocean views even on the ground floor of the house.
This view is looking toward the southeast, where upstairs (and maybe even on the first floor) we will be able to see the Alsea Bay Bridge.
And here’s the east wall of the home which will look toward Hwy 101. There’s a very steep hill on the east side of the house, which we were concerned about, but we ended up with a decent margin of level land between the house and the hill. So that was a nice bonus. We are also planning a small fenced yard between the house and the trees to the south, so that families using the home can let their kiddos play out in the yard without worrying about them falling down the hill, or running out into the road.

So exciting to see progress!
And if you’re interested, here’s a video I did for the grandkids this week.
